The SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is a globally recognized entrance exam for undergraduate admissions. It is conducted by the College Board via the Bluebook App and is taken mainly by Class 11–12 students or recent high school graduates aspiring to study in the US, Canada, UK, Italy, and over 60 other countries.
Currently, 4,000+ institutions across 65+ countries accept SAT scores as part of their admission requirements.
The SAT evaluates a student’s reading, writing, analytical, and mathematical skills. The test has two sections:
- Reading & Writing (RW)
- Math
Each section is further split into two adaptive modules, and questions are a mix of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Student-Produced Responses (SPRs).

- Now fully digital and adaptive.
- 8 annual test dates, with September added from 2025.
- Adaptive format: Module 2 difficulty adjusts based on performance in Module 1.

SAT Eligibility 2025
The College Board sets no strict eligibility criteria.
- Age: No official minimum, but most test takers are 17–19 years old (Class XI–XII).
- Attempts: No limit; can take multiple times per year.
- Account Setup: Students under 17 may require guardian assistance to create accounts.
- ID: Valid passport or government-approved photo ID is required.
